To get the most from MoneyVista you will be entering and saving information to help you to develop your own financial plan. The more information you put in, the more robust your plan will be, and the more you will get from MoneyVista.
This Privacy Policy explains our commitments to protect your information and your privacy. Please read this Privacy Policy before registering and saving your Personal Information with us. By using MoneyVista, you are accepting this Privacy Policy.
1. BACKGROUND
1.1 In this Privacy Policy the term Personal Information means any information about you obtained through MoneyVista from which you can be personally identified and which relates to you. This may include your name, address, email address, financial details, password and other information which you may disclose to us or post onto the Forum.
1.2 This Privacy Policy governs the way in which we process any Personal Information that you provide to us.
2. PERSONAL INFORMATION
2.1 We will not disclose any of your Personal Information to third parties, except to our authorized service providers, without your consent. Any exceptions to this are stated in this Privacy Policy.
2.2 To register and use the MoneyVista service you will need to provide some Personal Information to MoneyVista.
2.3 We are the Data Controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998. Please go to www.ico.gov.uk for details of our registration.
2.4 Any Personal Information you enter on MoneyVista or post on the Forums will be stored.
2.5 When you register for the MoneyVista service you may enter Personal Information such as your name, and email address.
2.6 When you are using MoneyVista you may also enter information about your gender, date of birth and financial services products you hold.
2.7 If you subscribe to MoneyVista, financial information such as your payment method (valid credit or debit card number, type, expiration date or other financial information) will be stored and processed by our third party payment service providers.
2.8 We take precautions including administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your Personal Information against loss, theft and misuse as well as against unauthorised access and disclosure. For example, only authorized employees are permitted to access Personal Information, and they may do so only for permitted business functions. We also use firewalls to help prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to your Personal Information.
2.9 We want you to feel confident using MoneyVista. However, no system can guarantee to be completely secure. Therefore, although we take all reasonable steps to secure your information, we do not promise that information, searches, or other communications will always remain secure. Users should also take care with how they handle and disclose their Personal Information and should avoid sending it through our email system wherever possible.
2.10 The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to access information held about you and also request that it is corrected or deleted. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you. These rights are in addition to your right to request that your Personal Information is/is not used in a particular way or shared with particular parties.

3.1.2 Types of cookies

• help you to create your financial plan and to notify you if something happens that will impact your financial plan;
• provide you with information or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes;
• manage your account and provide you with customer support;
• contact you at your request or to deal with MoneyVista or Forum management issues;
• carry out our obligations to you;
• allow you to access and use our 'Ask the Expert' service (or any similar or replacement service);
• allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so; or
• notify you about changes to our service.
4.2 We may use Financial or Personal Information you provide to process payments for subscriptions to MoneyVista, to protect against or identify possible fraudulent transactions, to deal with payment queries and problems, and otherwise as needed to manage our business.
5. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
5.1 We do not share, sell or disclose your Personal Information with others except as explained below:
5.1.1 Authorised service providers: We may share your Personal Information, which may include your name and contact information (including email address), with our authorised service providers (including other Royal London Group companies) that perform certain services on our behalf relating to MoneyVista, its operation and our use of it. When your subscription payment is made, your name, contact information and payment information will go to our authorized service providers who process payments on our behalf. These service providers may have access to Personal Information needed to perform their functions on our behalf but are not permitted to share or use such information for any other purposes.
5.1.2 Ask the Expert service: If you use our 'Ask the Expert' service to submit any enquiries about general personal finance matters or about our services, we may share your enquiry and any information related to it with the consultants we appoint to provide the 'Ask the Expert' service. We will only provide our consultants with the information they need to consider your enquiry. We will not provide them with your name, address or contact details. Our consultants are not permitted to share or use the information we provide to them for any purpose other than delivering the 'Ask the Expert' service.
5.1.3 Other Situations. We also may disclose your information, including Personal Information:
- In response to a court order, or a request for cooperation from a law enforcement or other government agency; to establish or exercise our legal rights; to defend against legal claims; or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable laws and/or regulations.
- When we believe disclosure is appropriate in connection with efforts to investigate, prevent, or take other action regarding illegal activity, suspected fraud or other wrongdoing; to protect and defend the rights, property or safety of our company, our users, our employees, or others; to comply with applicable law or cooperate with law enforcement; or to enforce our terms of use or other agreements or policies.
- In the event we sell or buy any of our business or assets, in which case we may disclose your Personal Information to the prospective or actual buyer of such business or assets (who may then go on to use your Personal Information in a similar way).
6. FORUMS
6.1 You decide what Personal Information to disclose on Forums. We remind you that Forums are public and not private areas where all the detail you post will be seen by other visitors and users.
6.2 Forums may be moderated (although we are not under any obligation to do so), and we strongly urge you not to include either real names, addresses or any other contact details on them.
6.3 We recommend you do not post any Personal Information (including any Sensitive Personal Information about your physical and mental health, your origin and/or race, your political beliefs, your sexual orientation or any criminal convictions or proceedings against you) on the Forums. Posting Personal Information on a Forum means your information is viewable and collectable by other users and visitors of MoneyVista. We are not responsible for the use of that information by those members or visitors.

7. THIRD PARTY SITES
There are a number of places on MoneyVista where you may click on a link to access other websites that do not operate under this Privacy Policy. These third party websites may independently solicit and collect information, including by cookies, and this may include collecting Personal Information. We recommend that you consult the privacy statements of all third party websites you visit by clicking on the "privacy" link typically located at the bottom of the webpage you are visiting.
8. ACCESSING YOUR INFORMATION
8.1 You can review and update your Personal Information by logging in and visiting the "My Account" section of MoneyVista.
8.2 If you have registered with us, you also may choose to de-activate your registration at any time by contacting us in accordance with section 13. After you de-activate your registration, you will not be able to sign in to MoneyVista or access any of your Personal Information through it. If you de-activate your registration, we may still retain certain information associated with your account for up to 7 years to enable us to reactivate it, for analytical purposes and recordkeeping integrity, as well as to prevent fraud, enforce our terms and conditions, take actions we deem necessary to protect the integrity of MoneyVista or our users, or take other actions otherwise permitted by law. In addition, if certain information has already been provided to third parties as described in this Privacy Policy, retention of that information will be subject to those third parties' policies.
9. YOUR CHOICES ABOUT COLLECTION AND USE OF YOUR INFORMATION
9.1 When you register for MoneyVista, you can decide how often and by which of the available means you would like to receive communications from us. You can modify your choices at any time by visiting the "My Account" section of MoneyVista.
9.2 You can choose not to provide us with certain information but that may prevent you from registering, subscribing and making full use of MoneyVista.
9.3 You also will be given the opportunity, in any marketing emails that we send to you, to opt out of receiving such messages in the future. It may take up to 10 days for us to process an opt out request.
9.4 We may send you other types of transactional and relationship email communications, such as service announcements, administrative notices, research and surveys, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them.
10. PRIVACY OF MINORS
Although MoneyVista is a general audience site, we restrict the use of our subscription service to individuals aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under the age of 18.
11. NO RIGHTS OF THIRD PARTIES
This Privacy Policy does not create rights enforceable by third parties.
12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
Please check this Privacy Policy regularly for changes. We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices and services. When we post changes to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. If we make any material changes in the way we collect, use, and/or share your Personal Information, we will notify you by sending an email to the email address you most recently provided us in your account, profile or registration (unless we do not have such an email address), and/or by prominently posting notice of the changes on MoneyVista. We recommend that you check MoneyVista from time to time to inform yourself of any changes in this Privacy Policy or any of our other policies.
